can't get Zotero toolbar on my Word - urgent help needed PLEEEASE

Hi,
urgent help needed PLEASE as my dissertation is due very soon.

I've installed the add-in, but it keeps saying "Zotero Macword Integration has been successfully installed, but Word must be restarted before it can be used. Please restart Word."

I have done this several times, but the toolbar in Word is no different (ie. doesn't have Zotero toolbar).

Please can anyone help?
  • Can you provide a report ID?
  • Hi Simon, thanks for getting back to me. I have one report ID: 1593779328, but this is from when I went into Zotero, and under the action button, clicked on report errors.

When I got the error message that I've written above, there was no other information or id number given to the error message.

I am running Zotero 2.0.3, with Macword Intergration 3.0b3 and PythonExt 2.6.2.20100203,
Firefox 3.6.8, Mac OS X Version 10.5.8, and MS Word 2008 for Mac, Version 12.1.0

I appreciate your help with this!
  • You sent that in after you received the error and before restarting Firefox? There are no Zotero errors in there.
  • Hi Dan,

Yes that's what I did. Could there be any other reason why Zotero isn't integrating with Word?

I just tried it again, with the same error message, and then obtained the following report id: 1952810309
  • Just to be clear, you are aware that there's no toolbar in Word 2008, right?
  • Thanks so much! I wasn't aware of that-i was looking at the Word tutorial video, and couldn't find the link that you sent me.

One final question: I have 3 references in my library. When i'm in word, and i click on add citation, nothing happens. As per the video instruction, a box should pop up with my library in it and then i can click on the particular reference to add the citation. Am I missing a step?

Thanks once again, I really appreciate your help!
  • Restart your computer, re-try the Reinstall Word Components step with Word closed, and try again.
