citing the same source multiple times
How do you cite the same source multiple times in zotero without creating new entry in your bibliography and a new footnote in your text? I am using the Chicago Manual of Style, full note with bibliography.
If you cite the same source several time, wouldn't you _want_ a footnote every time? (though possibly with ibid. or a shorter version - both of which Zotero does automatically).
And it shouldn't show up in the bibliography more than once automatically, too.
let's say I have to reference a source two times in one paragraph. i reference the source in Sentence 1 and Zotero add the footnote "1" at the end of the sentence and adds the citation to the bibliography. i reference the same source later in the paragraph, but instead of adding a "1" at the end of the sentence, zotero adds the next number in the series of references and adds the source again to the bibliography. Instead of adding the next number in the series of references, I want Zotero to assign the original number (in this case, the number 1). Does that make sense?
Can Zotero do this?
1. what you're seeing are endnotes, not the bibliography. You have to manually insert a bibliography using the "insert bibliography" link.
2. What you describe is not Chicago Style (which requires consecutively numbered notes) - try, e.g., Vancouver, IEEE, or Nature, so called numeric styles, which do what you want.
