user-added notes

We can attach a file (i.e. pdf article) to Zotero library through Firefox and view it and take some notes. Where are these notes added by user for the attached files on the right hand-side of the window stored? Where is all that info kept so that it does not disappear when we restart Firefox or even the computer so that it still remains same in the format that we submitted as its final form?
Has anybody lived trouble such as getting lost those user-added notes? How to get them in such a case or how to recover? Any back up?

if I understand you correctly the notes - i.e. the ones that look like yellow post-it notes - are saved in the zotero database. I've not heard of a single case of them getting lost or corrupted. That said, you should make regular back-ups of your zotero data (just like all other important data):

If you mean notes written _into_ pdf files - those have nothing to do with Zotero - by most programs (adobe, pdfXchange, FoxIt) they are stored as part of the pdf. They also don't tend to get lost and they can also be backed up by backing up the attached files (see above.)
  • i am concerned with your first paragraph and got what i wanted when i read the link you gave. i ll backup it right now !
