Tags

I was intending to use tags to relate to where hard copies of articles are filed; so the first tag would be the main category, and other keywords would be in the following tags. However the tags on an article automatically reorder alphabetically; is there any way to stop them doing this? Or could anyone suggest another way of linking the records to a filing system? There doesn't seem to be any way to add a unique reference number to each record, as far as I can tell.

You can either use collections instead or can prefix these "different kind of tags" with a common character (for example, you may have the location tags '@home', '@library', '@work', etc.)

I've got a 'tags' question. The only way of combining tags that I can see so far is in an 'and' relationship: if I select two tags, I am shown the objects which are tagged with both those terms.

But it would be useful to combine tags in an 'or' relationship: I would like to look at the objects in my library which are tagged with either 'BAVS paper' or 'Victorian Historiography'.

It seems such an obvious requirement that I feel I must just have missed to option to do this, though I have looked for it.
  • You should be able to do this by clicking the magnifying lens in the Zotero pane and defining an advanced search that matches any of several tags. You can also save the search.
  • Yes, that's great.
