HELP: Making additions to American Chemical Society Style
I am new to zotero and programing. However I would like some help or assistance making some additions to the American Chemical Society (dev) style posted on the depository. The current style includes journal, magazine, thesis, book and chapter citation options. However it is missing many of the other citation options listed at http://pubs.acs.org/userimages/ContentEditor/1246030496632/chapter14.pdf. The most important to me are the addition of website and patent citation options. I have tried to edit the CSL file with chrome://zotero/content/tools/csledit.xul with no luck. I also tried to make a new CSL file with http://www.somwhere.org/csl/, but I ran out of exceptions(there are only two available).
I am becoming very frustrated as I am work on my thesis, so if anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

This is a major issue for the use of Zotero in CHemical Publications.
While the produced bibliography can be edited manually, it kind of defeats the purpose.
Any progress, anyone ?

1. There aren't many people helping to code styles at the moment, so any request takes a while
2. The reasons this never got anywhere, though, is that it didn't follow the guidelines for requesting styles and improvements of styles
http://www.zotero.org/support/requesting_styles
specifically that any differences between existing and desired style be outlined.
Am hacking it myself - am comfortable with XML, and have got patents working, but some fine-tuning is needed.
Thanks for that link - will read it carefully - and when I have made some additions, I will upload it as a "version 2".
cheers,
Dr Mat

any questions post in this thread.
And yes, please do post an updated version once you have - don't post it as version 2, we'll just update the old one on the repository (you can decide yourself if you want to do the upload to the repository yourself - it's a little complicated if you've never worked with SVN (if you have then nevermind).
If you don't want to deal with this someone here will do the upload for you, if you do, here's the link to the SVN access form:
https://www.zotero.org/dev/trac_access
I've implemented most of, but not all of, the major style features that are required.
As a programmer, I would suggest that a version number be added somewhere. Is this possible ?
If anyone else wants to extend further a very useful link is:

It's too big to put up on this forum, so if you could upload it from:
http://home.exetel.com.au/chemware/american-chemical-society.csl
I would be very grateful.
cheers,
Mat
