Help - can't open zotero

I still have the zotero logo in the bottom right hand corner of my browser...but over the "t and "e" of zotero there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it. I usually open zotero by clicking on the logo. It no longer opens when I click on the logo. What should I do? Help.
  • Have you installed other firefox extensions?
    Read that: http://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_bugs
  • Hi Gracile. Not sure to be honest, I usually just do what it asks me too. Have read that post though and the PROBLEM WAS SOLVED by playing around with the the scary config:about thing in step 3.

    Many thanks.

    Hi,

    Have been able to catch this error message... but I can't really find my way through the reporting bugs procedures... Herer is my message :
    [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIFile.remove]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/zotero.js :: init :: line 315" data: no]

    I am using Mozilla Firefox 3.6.8, have been using Zotero for a few years now, and I have the message (with the yellow triangle) saying (in french) "there has been an error at the opening of Zotero".

    And did not install any new extension recently.

    gillesenvrac: Unlikely that this is related to CCoombs's issue (whatever that was), but 1) restart your computer and 2) if that doesn't work, check file permissions on your Zotero data directory.

    Also, what OS, and is this a local/network/external drive? Zotero should give you a proper message on an access denied error—which is likely what you're encountering—but you're getting a generic error.
