Sync deadly slow

I just bought some extra storage as I was bumping up against the free MB limit. On my last sync before I added storage, it could not finish as the files I have amounted to more than 100MB. Now -- after I have plenty of storage added -- the sync is deadly slow up to about 2% then sync stops altogether.

Is is possible this is happening because my new storage is actually not available, even though it says it is on my account? There was some ref to the storage taking up to 24 hours to be put into place. Or, is there another problem? Or both? Thanks.

    No.

Is it slow uploading large individual files, or slow uploading many smaller files? If the former, it's may just be the speed/quality of your network. If the latter, it may be due to a major server migration we're performing (yesterday and today), which has sync operations running slower than normal.

Restart Firefox and try again, and hover over the progress bar to watch progress.
  • So I took out the large-ish pdfs (around 40MB) then tried syncing again. I have about 20 files with maybe 7 pdfs in the range of 1 to 20 pdf, the rest just small files. Still DEADLY slow -- a trickle. The total indicated amount to be synced now is around 250MB. After about 15 minutes I am still only up to about 2%. Although my net connect is not especially zippy, the 250MB normally would have been transferred in no more than 15 minutes or so. Also, firefox seems to be slowed in uploading pages. At this rate, it will take around 10 hours or so to sync. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  • UPDATE: when I stopped the sync just now, web pages downloaded as normal, so it was the zotero sync. What is confusing is that the sync was just working at that DEADLY trickle. For some reason, it was slowing things down hugely, though it was only syncing at a trickle. Thanks.
