save article icon not showing up even with compatible sites

I just installed zotero and for some reason you tube is the only site where I can get an icon to come up in the toolbar. I've tried many news sites like the new york times and BBC and for some reason an icon doesn't show up. I have the whole zotero library and everything at the bottom of my web browser but I'm having to manually insert all my new york times articles. Any help?
