896172520 Can't insert citation

896172520

I'm getting error messages when I try to insert citations - something about the style not being defined. I've followed the troubleshooting guide to no avail. Please help - worked this morning.
  • Just to let you know, I'm using OpenOffice on a Mac.
  • Does this happen in a new document? When you click the Add Citation button, do you get a window that asks you to choose a style? If so, do you only get this error for some styles, or does it happen for all of them?

Yes, it happens with a new document. The message here says, "itemset is undefined".

Yes, I get the window. I have tried about ten different styles - it has happened for all of them.

Can you create a bibliography by control-clicking a reference within Zotero and choosing "Create Bibliography from Selected Item..." and then "Save as RTF"? If not, can you generate a report ID for that as well?
  • That does not work either.

  • Have you modified any styles or installed any new styles? If so, try moving the modified styles out of the styles directory, or deleting the styles you've installed in the Styles pane of the Zotero preferences, under the cog menu. If not, try choosing "Reset Translators and Styles..." under the Advanced pane of the Zotero preferences.
  • I hadn't installed anything new.

I tried restarting again - the first time (before I sent the error report the first time) it did nothing, but this time it has worked and I am able to insert citations again.

    Thank you for your help!
