nothing works, at all

i'm totally new here...installed the plug in, set up my syncing preferences...

when i click the little book icon in my url bar, a little pop up appears that says "saving 'title of book'", but when i go to my library there is nothing there.

what am i doing wrong?

i've tried from my school's web catalog and from amazon, no dice either way.

help??

    it has nothing to do with either word plugin nor sync. Can you see your zotero library? can you add items by hand? (i.e. click on the green "+" sign, then enter information in the right column)?
    Try other websites such as Google scholar or worldcat.

    also - on a very basic level - you understand that things get saved to your local Zotero when you click e.g. the book item - right?
    The one that you can access by clicking on the "zotero" letter on the bottom right of your screen?
