Amazon price information?

Hi!

Is there a possibility to save the price information from Amazon together with the bibliographic information? For my needs it would be a helpful feature if Zotero could automatically extract the price information from the Amazon website and store it together with the other information.
I dont know if Zotero already has this feature. Are there some workarounds for this?

Thanks

David
  • Put the information in a note?

It doesn't make much sense for Zotero to explicitly deal with pricing data, as beyond it not being particularly relevant for citations, it would open a huge can of worms (you want Amazon, I want Borders, and someone else wants their local B & M).
  • no - and it's very unlikely to happen - Zotero uses an Amazon service, which supplies the metadata to books - as far as I know that doesn't include the price (which, of course, is more volatile than the rest of the information) - so there isn't much of an alternative to writing it down yourself.

    okay...
I'm working with books in Germany, so the book prices do not differ. Regardless if I buy them from Amazon, the local bookstore in my city or a different bookstore 700km away... it's forbidden by law that a book is sold with a different price somewhere else in Germany. The price is even a pretty good constant over long periods of time, since booksellers are not allowed to give any rebates or do their own advertising for books.

I will try to write the price as a note.
