CMS author-date with wrong first name entries

Zotero is close to perfect! However, I have a little problem finishing my doctoral thesis. I use CMS author-date style. In some citations in the text, some authors appear with their respective first names. For example: (Crocker, Major, and Claude Steele 1998). I have tried everything (change of the reference entries in firefox, copy it from other documents etc.) to get the first name ("Claude") out of this and similar citations but it wouldn't work. The strange thing is that usually the citations are correct and it happens just sometimes (in my 200-page document about 8 times). Also, I haven't found any pattern for it. Has somebody here had the same problem and found a solution to it? Would be very happy for a suggestion!
PS: I am a university teacher and most of my students now use ZOTERO- it's an amazing invention!
