Full citation in new Word document

When I cite something for the first time, Zotero enters the full citation. However, when I open a new document, Zotero abbreviates the citation if I've cited the same source in another document. How can I make sure Zotero provides the full citation the first time I cite a source in a new document?
  • really? That certainly shouldn't be the case.
Could you describe exactly, step by step what you are doing and on which set-up:
Operating system, Word version, Zotero and FF version, which style you use.
Please make sure you can replicate this - don't write it up from memory.
  • This occurs when I create a new Word 2007 document. I follow the standard procedure for adding a footnote (Add-Ins-->Zotero Insert Citation-->I select article/document-->Zotero inserts footnote (if I've cited the article/document in another document (ex. "Chapter Two), it abbreviates it (in new document, "Chapter Three"); if I haven't cited the article/document previously, I get the full citation the first time, abbreviated citation subsequently.)

Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium
    Word version: Word 2007
    Zotero and FF version: 2.0.3
Style: Chicago Manual of Style (Note without Bibliography)
  • Are you switching between the two documents after you click the "Add Citation" button? Otherwise, I'm having trouble imagining how this could take place. Nonetheless, if you can reproduce the issue in two new documents, email them to support@zot...org and we'll take a look.
