request a record type with ALL fields

I am just starting a Zotero library, converting from RefWorks because Zotero has better features. But I use all kinds of docs in my research and I am already running into trouble. For example, I have a number of newsletters from non-profit organizations. I need to reference the whole newsletter, not a portion, and I need to be able to enter the organization name or publisher as well as the name of the newsletter. None of the current record types will allow me to have all these fields.

A record that listed all fields, from which we can pick and choose, would allow people to enter all types of sources even if they don't fit into the specific record types that are now listed.
  • Are you sure that these can't be treated as Book entries? Depending on the sort of data, Report might also work.

The name of the data type isn't that important-- consider how you would like to cite such items, and find an item type that will allow you to do so.
  • "Document" has both title & publisher. It is unclear to me if your organization names are different from the publisher. If they are, can you use the author/contributor field?
  • Sometimes there is an author plus the organization. Latter can be called publisher, but when the publisher field is included in a record, the issue number is not. It seems I can get some fields in each one but not all that I need (publisher or org, issue number, name of publication, etc).

I also have other docs, such as position papers, policy statements, and other docs that come from non-profits that don't readily fit the record types here (or those in RefWorks for that matter). Thus the suggestion of a record that has all fields so we can pick and choose in docs or other sources that are odd.
