Any help is much appreciated!

The style is similar to ACS Chemical Biology, with the following changes:

For all citation types:
-in-text citation in brackets, not parentheses
-do not italicize in-text citation number
-no periods after author initials (including after final author's initials)
-no "and" before last author's name
-no period at end of citation

Journal:
-period after article title instead of comma
-do not italicize journal name
-colon before page number instead of comma (e.g. Journal 67:89-95)

Book:
-period, not comma, between title of book an publisher name

Chapter in book:
-colon after "In" [reads as "In: Authors (eds) Book Title" ]
-Editor names proceed book title
-Editor names not in parentheses
-Following editor names-- "(eds)"
-no punctuation between (eds) and book title
-Book title not in italics
-Period after book title
-Publisher name/comma/Publisher place/comma/pp x-xx
-no period at end of citation

Thank you VERY much for your help!

  • do you have a link to a style guide and/or sample article?
  • Here's the link:
    http://www.springer.com/medicine/ophthalmology/journal/417

you then have to click "information for authors" on the right-hand side.

    thanks!

  • I haven't forgotten about this - but busy atm.
  • No problem! thanks for keeping me in mind..
  • go here
    http://gist.github.com/415448
download the style by right-clicking on the "Raw" link on the top right and "Save Link as..."
Drag the downloaded journal-of-the-electrochemical-society.csl to any open Firefox window to install.

Did this one pretty quickly - please have a look and tell me how it goes.
  • Thanks so much -- unfortunately I just left town and will be out of the country for the next month...I'll give it a try as soon as I'm back and will let you know. thanks again -- i do appreciate it!

  • OK, the updated style is now on the new csl 1.0 repository at https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles and will eventually move to citationstyles.org

I'd still be happy about someone checking it.
