Whenever I attempt to sync, I receive an error stating that:

"The group 'S506: Summer 2010' has reached its Zotero File Storage quota. Some files were not uploaded. Other Zotero data will continue to sync to the server."

This group was set up by my university library for our LIS class on research. Others appear able to sync without trouble, and have far, far more than my small citations. I cannot seem to locate any file I have uploaded that would consume my 100MB limit. Could you please assist me with this?

Respectfully,

  • The file 'G7GSMIVK.zip' would exceed your Zotero File Storage quota
It's whatever's in the G7GSMIVK directory within 'storage' within your Zotero data directory.

Thanks for you reply. I'm the tech trouble shooter for the S506 Summer Group. Is there any way you can tell me which group member uploaded the zip file? Or any way I can see the storage for the whole group instead of just me? We need to get this storage issue solved as soon as possible.

    Thanks,
    Erin
  • I'm not really sure what you mean. The file that's hitting the limit is in the G7GSMIVK directory on ampaxton's computer.
  • I wasn't sure if your initial reply was directed to her in specific, or the group as a whole, in which case I needed to figure out who posted the zip file to get it deleted.

Anyway, thanks for your quick reply - Erin
  • It's not a ZIP file. Files are compressed before uploading.
  • Dan,

I deleted the G7GSMIVK and I still get the error.

    Sincerely,
    Armisha

Check the error report. It would list a different directory (as a ZIP).

But it's also possible/likely that the group is simply out of space, in which case Erin or whoever the admin is would need to upgrade their account beyond 100MB.
  • Or any way I can see the storage for the whole group instead of just me?
There's only one quota involved—the quota of the owner of the group. So if that's you, and the group needs more space, you would need to purchase additional storage.
  • I transferred ownership to me. Armisha, turns out Andrea was the problem, not either of us! :) she was owner of too many groups and her storage quota had hit the limit. Transferred it to me, so should be ok.... I think. Waiting to re-sync.

Dan, thanks again for your help.
