How do I manage more than one zotero account?

I created two zotero accounts - one for me and one for my daughter. We want to keep our research separate. But it seems that all of my research data automatically syncs to hers. How can I keep things separate so we can each do our own research on the same desktop? Thank you - I appreciate it!

It syncs to the account specified in the Sync pane of the Zotero preferences.

Unless you're asking how to use multiple Zotero accounts in the same Firefox profile, in which case the answer is to not do that. Use a separate OS account or a separate Firefox profile.
  • Yes - we want to access our own accounts in the same Firefox browser. I go back and forth between a laptop and desktop. She just uses the desktop. Are you saying we can log in to Firefox using different accounts? Thanks again.

Yes—see the page I linked to.

But separate OS accounts is usually a better solution, since that'll automatically keep all your data (Firefox, Zotero, and everything else) separate.
  • Yeah - I figured it out - thanks so much! I appreciate the help.
  • Actually an easier way is use portable firefox (http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable) installed in different folders.
