Conflict Resolution

Hi, I keep being told that 'Conflicts have suspended automatic syncing. Click the sync icon to resolve them'. When I do this I get a Conflict Resolution book with the Local Object, Remote Object and Merged Object. I click on the Local Object as the record I want kept. However, as soon as I close this box there is the same issue with the same one record. How can I resolve this? Thanks
  • I'm getting the same message, repeatedly. I tried a full sync through Zotero prefs but still get the same.

Sometimes when it's trying it complains about a particular reference which I have now deleted but which it still keeps complaining about.

Windows XP professional, FF v3.6.2, Zotero 2.0.2
  • Still getting the same problem a week later. Any thoughts on this Zotero staff?
  • Sorry if this is not responsive, but you have emptied the trash?
  • Thanks for the suggestion fbennett - makes sense but I tried it and unfortunately it didn't work in this case.
  • You should only get the same conflict repeatedly if the sync isn't actually going through.
  • Thanks Dan.

I realise now the problem has changed - I don't get conflict repeats but it's perpetually synching and the red alert is often there. When I click the red alert it just starts synching again.

Actually, now when I click the red alert icon I get

    "Conflicts have suspended automatic syncing.

Click the sync icon to resolve them."

And then a couple of minutes later 52 synch resolutions came up and an error ID. 198873011
  • Try a Full Sync from the Sync->Reset pane of the Zotero prefs.

Nothing's working, and I just got 53 synch conflicts twice in five minutes.

Error report ID: 16473100 and 1033369684

    ??
  • As I noted above, as long as you're getting a sync error, you'll get the same conflicts ever time—they only go through when the sync completes successfully.

Provide a Debug ID for a sync attempt that generates the error.
  • Thanks Dan. I tried but when I click submit I get:

"The server returned an error. Please try again."

Trying again several times did not help.
  • Did you start (or clear) debug output immediately before trying?

If it's still too big, you can view it, save it as a text file, zip it, and e-mail it to support@zot....org.
  • Thanks Dan, I've done that.
  • Any progress on what's causing my sync problem?

    Ian
  • Ok, I've fixed it now. Don't know what the problem was but complete reinstall of ff and zotero did the trick.
