Group Library

I just began working with the Group Library feature and when I first posted a collection from my local Zotero Library to the Group Library it did not seem to be updating on the Group version as I change notes and made corrections in the Local Library items.

I now realize it may take a bit of time before the local changes show up after syncing, but I made the mistake of deleting a collection in the Group Library, thinking I would just re-post it with my local updates, but it seemed to have deleted the collection name, but left all the items in the Group library looking like orphan records.

Should I re-post my collection to the Group Library or will this create a horrible duplication of items?

    That shouldn't cause duplication-- Zotero keeps track of the relationships between private and group items and I believe that it won't cause duplicates in this case. Test with a small collection and see what happens.

    That said, it is not the case that changes to items in "My Library" will propagate to the corresponding items in group libraries. They won't. This is something of a drawback to group libraries, and it requires that the Zotero team make some architectural decisions about what exactly should and shouldn't be updated, and how to reconcile changes from different group members...

    This is good information. I made changes to certain items in my Local Library and they seemed to propagate to the Group Libraries after syncing, but I will keep following the details on this until I understand the feature more fully.
