Endnote and Zotero Citations in Same Word Doc

Hi,

I am pretty new to Zotero and possibly asking a question has been discussed. But my search of posts doesn't get an answer. So, please bear with me for re-asking.

I have been working on a paper (Word) with many citations from Endnote. Now, I have migrated from Endnote to Zotero and also exported the library to Zotero. When I continue working on the paper, I insert citations from Zotero. Now, I have citations from both Endnote and Zotero in the same paper. How can I compose the bibliography? I have tried. Zotero doesn't recognize the citations from Endnote.

This has been troubling me for a long time. Please help.

  • You'll have to manually replace the Endnote citations with Zotero citations. Zotero cannot interpret Endnote citations, and there isn't (yet) a way to automate the replacement.
  • what you can try to do is first format the endnote citations, then remove the fieldcodes from the document and then, after having exported the endnote-file to zotero run zotero's rtf-scan. but this is not a sure shot and Rintze's suggestion is probably better and faster, unless your document contains hundred and thousands of references.
  • Many thanks to both of you!
