MSWord Plug-in Problems

I've got PythonExt 2.6.2.20100203, Zotero 2.0.2, Zotero MacWord 3.0b2, Word Mac 2008 12.2.4, OSX Server 10.6.2, and Firefox 3.6.2.

Zotero itself in Firefox seems to work fine. When I try to insert a citation in a blank document in word, I get "Zotero fields cannot be inserted here". When I try to set Zotero document prefs I get "Zotero experienced an error updating your document. COMMAND: app (u'/....Word.app).active_document.get_story_range (story_type=k.footnotes_story).

Please help!

  • I am a student at University. Although I have been using the same PC most of the time, but I find that if I try to work on a document on another terminal in the Uni network a) the library will not contain the same references or the latest reference I have stored unless I export to a memory stick ad reload to the new terminal and b) the win word integration write and cite option keeps telling me that certain references I have cited are no longer found ( and indeed some are deleted from my text and my bibliography list). Other students who I've shown zotero to do not semi to have the same problem,
This is a real problem as it means that I lose citations or wrongly cite.
  • I'm running Zotero 2.02 with WinWord Integration 3.0a3 on a Windows 7 computer, using Firefox 3.5.9 and Word 2003, SP3.

Everything used to work fine, but recently when trying to edit citations I get the message that I must have the cursor in a Zotero citation in order to edit a citation. Of course as far as I can tell the cursor is positioned inside a Zotero citation, just as I would always do before, when it worked fine. I can't say if this is the result of any upgrading by Firefox or Zotero or the Winword module, as I don't keep careful track of when those updates occur.

Thanks for any light, or better, a fix! jlf
  • kelechi1, Phleb, JLF: We can't debug four different issues in the same thread. Start new ones.
  • Hi, I haven't figured anything out. Any suggestions?
  • lesica, can you provide a report ID for the latter error?
  • Hello, the report ID is 1288028890. I think it may be specific to Snow Leopard Server. I have all the same software on other machines with normal Snow Leopard and it works fine.
