importing references with PDF from EndNote

Hello,

I'm trying to import my EndNote library on my Mac OSX with all the PDFs. I've renamed the file path as suggested in discussion forums, and imported it to Zotero - though the PDF are not included. How can I transfer my PDF from EndNote to Zotero, having already changed the file path?

You do not give very many details. Please say exactly what you have done, following these instructions:
http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/importing_records_from_endnote
and exactly how it fails (with any errors, etc.).

A single example of a failed record might help too.

In Endnote, I chose RIS output style; and exported the library in text format. I then opened the document (library), found + replaced all 'internal-pdf" paths with 'file' in the actual text

from Zotero I did 'import', and chose the EndNote library saved on my desktop. It imported all the references and notes, but not the PDFs

Did you include the escaped-path-to-pdfs? You can copy a 'file://' URI from the RIS file into your browser addressbar to test if you have generated correct URIs.

Hello,
sorry for the delay of my response. Thanks for your comment. I did replace all 'internal-pdf' with 'file' as suggested in the forum, and was able to import all references with PDFs. However, when i double click on them to open it, it says:

'The attached file could not be found.

It may have been moved or deleted outside of Zotero.

And gives me the option of either 'cancel' or 'locate'. I then locate the source of my PDF file (which is on an external hard drive which I connect to the computer) and choose 'open', but it does not work.
