Mac Word 2008 Zotero Integration Problem

I have gone through the troubleshooting found at this page:

http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#component_loading_error

several times.

I still get the following error message:

Word could not communicate with Zotero. Please ensure that Firefox is open and try again.

My Zotero Error Report ID is: 584760731

Mac OS X Version 10.5.8

Mac Word 2008 12.1.7

I read through the previous troubleshooting post with # submesoscale
http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/11841/mac-word-2008-integration/#Item_31

I'm not sure if I have the same problems or not. That is why I did the error report and this post.

Thanks very much for any help that you can offer. I'm just now getting started on a major research paper and any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Do you have a non-English language system?
  • No, I'm using it in English . . . . if I understand that question correctly?
  • What language is your copy of OS X?
  • My OS X is English. Sorry this has taken a few days.
  • Just wanted to mention how disappointing it is to not get any follow-up to this issue.

For what it is worth, sometimes folks, like myself, can't be online all the time. I've had some significant personal issues that kept me off the computer over the past weekend. I'd rather not explain that on the forum here.

    Thanks.

    Regards,
    Ray
  • Have you upgraded to version 3.0b2 of the Word plugin? Does it help?
  • Wow. I just upgraded (per your forum post above) to the version 3.0b2 a few minutes ago and it is all working now. I'm in a Word document and Zotero allows me to insert citations, etc. Awesome.

I'm looking forward to making some serious progress on my research writing this coming weekend.

    Thanks Dan for the help.

    Regards,
    Ray
