Link to a document

Hi there,

I have a question concerning the links that can be attached to a document reference in Zotero. I would like to attach the link to the document I have on my computer but I have the impression that Zotero uploads the document on its web storage. I would rather prefer that it only copies the link to the document so that no space is taken.

Is this possible?

    add attachment --> add link to file
    you can also de-activate Zotero file storage in the preferences.

    That's what I have done. Now my question is: If someone belonging to my group wants to synchronize his bibliography with me, will he still have the links to the files?

    no, I don't think so - if you want to interact as a group with access to files you should work with storage.
