Won't insert bibliography into mac word 2004

I have a PowerBook G4 1.5 PowerPC with osx 10.5.8

I am running Firefox 3.6

I have Word 2004. and Zotero 2.0 and the plugin 3.0a8

I had the last version of zotero and it worked fine when I wanted to add a bib to Word. Since I have upgraded, i cannot add one. I can add citations, but not a bib. I get an error message that says, "You must insert a citation before performing this operation."

I have check the support and found similar problems that others have had but not this one. I have uninstalled the plug in, deleted the dot file, restarted and reinstalled several times and it is always the same result.

Also, when I installed the plugin the first time it was looking for a folder called, "Word Script Menu Items" I didn't have one so I made one and then zotero added its folder in. But that doesn't seem to be a problem now.

Can someone help me get the Word plugin working properly?

    Does this happen even when you try to add a bibliography to a new document? (Add citation[s] first before trying, of course.)

    Hello. Thanks for looking in to this.

    Yes. It happens with new documents. I know that the toolbar will make a bibliography from the citations that I have in a document, But I want to be able to create a bibliography independent of citations in a document. The only way I can see to do this right no is make an in-text citation with all of my sources, which seems la little ridiculous.

    The old version of Zotero would make an independent bib. Will the new one not?
