IEEE Xplore 'Could Not Save Item'

I have had problems with IEEE Xplore using the RefGrab-It tool from RefWorks too, so this could be an issue related to my own setup. This is the first time I am using Zotero and I have been able to get other sources downloaded (ie from ScienceDirect). I use IEEE Xplore the most though, so I hope I can get this working.

I am running Firefox 3.0.3 on MacOSX Version 10.5.4 and running through my university library proxy (proxy.library.carleton.ca). I actually had the same error when I didn't use the proxy and it was going to the free site, so I don't think it's a proxy issue.

The hover over the zotero save icon does say (IEEE Xplore), so it's using the correct translator.

This is the exact address I was using.

  • The Zotero folks are aware of the issue with that site, and there is already a ticket.

Thanks, and I'm going to use the Clipboard Trick as the guy # sboyd # said until there will be a update to fix the problem.

Got IEEE Explore to download a citation using this method:

Clicked download citation, chose BibTeX. This put the citation in the clipboard.

Then opened Zotero half-screen, choose download citation from clipboard.

    Works for the time being...
