Too frequent updates?

Hello,

I'm a new Zotero user and I've been very VERY happy with it, I love it, but I was wondering if it is really so necessary to release updates so often. I've noticed lately that I open my firefox and there is always a new zotero plugin update or something. It's the only plugin that I've installed in my firefox (not a fan of overloading my browser) and it's getting a little annoying. Since I know it's in constant development maybe there would be a way to manage the updates somehow?
  • The 2.0 version was officially a development version until a couple of days ago. The frequent upgrades was probably caused by that. The developers wanted to get the latest version out so that as many people as possible can test the latest version.

Now that 2.0 is stable, I would expect less frequent updates.

Also, you can decline an update, if you want.
  • If you were using 2.0 during its beta phase, you should have been prepared to receive frequent updates. "Beta" means under development, right? If you review the changelog, you'll see that updates were not all that frequent, and in any case, Zotero 2.0 is out of beta now anyway.
