Rebuilding computer - what happens to Zotero files?

Our IT people are rebuilding my machine later this week. What happens to my Zotero files? They are synced online - do I need to backup also? Sorry to be so clueless.

    backup is a good idea, yes. Unless you have all of your attached files stored it's absolutely necessary.
