APA 6th--problem with journals in reference list

Hi,

When I generate a reference list using APA 6th edition, all my referenced journal articles are showing up with the journal's volume number--which is correct--but also the journal issue number which is NOT correct. According to the 6th edition style manual, and as in prior editions, the journal issue number is included only when the journal is paginated separately (starts over with page 1) by issue. This is not the case in these journals.

Can anyone help me with this?

thank you, Cindy
  • nor really, unfortunately. There is no way to tell for Zotero whether a journal is continuously or separately paginated. For generic styles like APA, we chose therefore to put in too much information rather than leave out some.
    If you want to take out the issue number in a version of the style for your own use take out
    <text variable="issue" prefix="(" suffix=")"/>
    from the locators macro.
