Zotero 7.0.16: "Some data could not be downloaded."

  • This is the Debug ID D1667187744 and the device (laptop) is still not syncing. There is no other error code but I am prompted with a message saying “Some data could not be downloaded. It may have been saved with a newer version of Zotero. Other data will continue to sync.” For contextual information, I am using the version 7.0.16 (64 bit). My coauthor is using the version 8.0.4 (with a Mac computer). In the online version we see 203 items and in my offline (desktop) version I see 202 items. In one example the online version has 9 keywork tags and for the same record in my desktop version I have 19 keyword tags. Please advise what could be the issue and potential solutions.

  • Install Zotero 8 from the download page.

    There was an issue that could prevent Zotero 7.0.16 from upgrading automatically for some people.
  • The issue is that you're using an old Zotero version and the solution would be to update.
