macOS 26.4: Zotero Connector for Safari always saves as webpage

    I am encountering the very same issue on Safari 26.4 on macOS, with a bug ID 1020458079. Could you please have a look at it?

    You should restart Zotero in Troubleshooting Mode (Help -> Restart in Troubleshooting Mode), then restart Safari and see if you still have this issue.

    Submit a Debug ID from Safari refreshing the page where you don't get translations, but expect them to appear, e.g. this Zotero Forums page.

    Oops. I can not even open the "Zotero preferences" on safari. When I follow the guide on your provided link, it did nothing (no popup). I also tried to disable all other extensions, but it did not help. I am running safari on macOS 26.4 RC.

    It eventually works. Please find Connector Debug ID D840911783. Hope it will help.
    Note: I am running Zotero Stable.

    You're running a Beta release of Safari. You should switch back to the non-Beta version.

    I just update to macOS 26.4 stable. The issue continues. Also, I cannot open "Zotero preferences" on safari. I will try later if I still need to submit some debug reports.

    We are able to reproduce this issue with Safari 26.4 and are seeing if we can fix it. We will let you know once we know more. Thank you for the report.

    For what it's worth as a workaround or clue, I am also having exactly this problem, but the connector still works for me stably and as expected on Safari Technology Preview.

    Zotero 8.0.5 is out now with a fix for Safari 26.4
