After I add tags to items and/or move items into new collections, I shut down my computer as usual. When I restart the computer and reopen Zotero, all the changes I made are completely gone. The items appear exactly as they did before — no tags and back in their original (unclassified) state.

This has now happened twice.

Important details:
- Auto-sync has been turned off the entire time.
- I have not logged into my Zotero account on any other device during this period.
- No other synchronization-related settings were changed.

I’m really puzzled because the changes should have been saved locally, right? Has anyone else experienced something similar? Could this be related to how Zotero handles local storage, database caching, or shutdown process?

Any ideas on what might be causing this or how to prevent it from happening again would be greatly appreciated!
