Bibliography

I am using Zotero with APA 7 for in-text citations. For example: “................. (Alex, 2021).” When I click the Add/Edit Citation button in Word, the citation (Alex, 2021) appears . However, the reference information does not appear in the bibliography. This problem started recently. When I try to recreate the bibliography by clicking Add/Edit Bibliography, only a few references appear in the bibliography, while the bibliographic information for hundreds of other citations does not show up.

Additionally, the new citations I add also do not generate reference entries in the bibliography.

It seems that the connection between the in-text citations and the bibliography has been broken. How can I fix this?

    You (or someone else who worked with the document) flattened the citations by accident. See Existing Citations Not Detected.

    Unless you're still saving the document in the wrong format, newly added citations would appear in a newly added bibliography.
