Which configuration can turn off the preview feature in PDF readers, where a small popup window appears when the mouse hovers over hyperlinks such as author names or figure references? I don’t often need this feature, and my computer’s performance is limited. Disabling it manually might make PDF reading smoother.

dstark@gouketing, this is something I'm interested in also but seems not to be possible at present. (Not sure it will significantly affect performance though.) This thread looks like it's where most of the discussion is accumulating.
