Feature request for Zotero iOS: set & save zoom settings for EPUBs

It’s great that Zotero 7 for iOS now includes the ability to view EPUBs inside Zotero (https://www.zotero.org/blog/ios-epub-snapshot-annotation-and-pdf-metadata-retrieval/). This makes it possible to use Zotero as an ebook reader.

I mentioned this in another discussion (https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/127835/now-available-on-ios-epub-and-webpage-snapshot-annotation-and-pdf-metadata-retrieval#latest), but since it’s a distinct issue, I’m starting this separate thread.

In the future, it would be very helpful to have an option under the menu item "Appearance" to set the EPUB zoom factor (technically the font size?) and have that setting saved per ebook. At the moment it’s possible to zoom in and out while reading, but there’s no distinct menu item and it is not persistent. The zoom level resets and needs to be adjusted again each time the EPUB is reopened.
  • A follow up on this. It appears that on iOS it is not possible to open EPUB attachments outside Zotero which makes this feature request more important since using an alternative reader is not an option. So to read EPUBs, I end up going outside Zotero entirely, which is unfortunate, because otherwise it's the best.

Sorry, I misread. Yes, this (and a UI control for zooming) is planned.
  • Wonderful. Thanks for the note and your great work.
