APA narrative citation (after 8.0.3 update)
Hi,
I am using the Word Add-in to insert citations in APA format. Before the recent update, I could create narrative citations by manually adjusting the brackets (e.g. changing "(Meyer et al., 2020)" to "Meyer et al. (2020)").
I understand that the "leave out author" option is recommended for narrative citations. However, there are cases where I need to remove the brackets entirely, for instance if I want to write something like "(but see Meyer et al., 2020)". The current "leave out author" option does not accommodate this and I do not want to type the citation manually because then it does not show up in my bibliography.
Is there another method in the new Zotero version that replaces the old manual adjustment?
Thanks in advance for any help or tips!

2) The classic citation dialog included an editor, but that hasn't been the default citation dialog for over a decade, and for all that time you've been able to edit citations directly in the document if you really needed to. You can still do so now that the classic dialog has been removed. But again, this is almost never necessary, and you should avoid doing so if at all possible, since it will prevent Zotero from being able to update the citation. (That was the case with the classic dialog as well.)
