I can't quote the PDFs right now.

I updated Zotero to the latest version, and now when I go to add a citation in Word as before and add the bibliography, the PDFs don't appear. They are in the desktop app, but not when I go to reference them. Help!

I'm not sure what you mean by "the PDFs don't appear". PDFs never appear in the citation dialog — only regular bibliographic items.

Can you provide some screenshots that show the problem?

To be clear, if you only have standalone PDFs, you need to create parent items to cite them. That's always been the case.
