Zotero 8: duplicate items no longer functions

Sadly, duplicate items no longer functions as desired and seems bugged (doesn't allow to choose the version to merge from anymore and shows different chapters of the same book as duplicates, which the older version didn't do)

We haven't received any other reports of this. Can you provide some screenshots that show the problem and a Report ID?

Can you reproduce the problem in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”)?

For different chapters of the same book,.I'd expect that to be because you (incorrectly) have them with the same DOI -- Zotero has always marked items with the same DOI as multiples, it's just that chapters didn't use to have DOIs.

(And Zotero 8.0.2 will stop transferring the DOI when creating a book section from a book within Zotero.)

I made an error report (even though I don't think that this contains my problem, as Zotero didn't really experience any errors in terms of running) - ID: 942103645

It seems to be the issue adamsmith mentioned: Often, when you add book chapters from online books to zotero, they all have the same doi (this is an issue of the publishers). In earlier versions of zotero this wasn't marked as a duplicate, if the authors of the chapters were different. Now they are marked as duplicates. I compared the duplicate items section between my Version 7.0.30 installation and my 8.0.1 installation. The 8.0.1 installation shows many more duplicates as you can see. This issue will be solved by 8.0.2 not transferring the DOI i guess
