Zotero doesn't open PDF after it downloads it using Chrome Plugin

edited 9 days ago
Hello everyone,

I’m facing a recurring issue with Zotero 8.0.1 (x64) on Windows 11 (build 26200) related to PDF attachments added via the Zotero Chrome Connector.

Whenever I save a PDF using the Chrome Zotero Connector, Chrome shows that the file has been successfully downloaded.

The reference appears in Zotero, but when I try to open the PDF, Zotero reports that the file is missing.

After this happens once, all files in that attachment folder stop showing up inside Zotero (even though they still exist on disk).

If I restart Zotero, everything returns to normal and all files reappear correctly.

This cycle repeats the next time I download a PDF via the browser connector.

It seems to trigger specifically after downloading PDFs via the browser connector, not when attaching files manually.

Here is the report from Zotero

What should I do?

Can you provide a Debug ID (different from a Report ID) from Zotero for reproducing this? (We only ever want ids here, not raw error or debug output.)

    Oh, but:
[JavaScript Error: "Error(s) encountered during statement execution: disk I/O error" {file: "resource://gre/modules/Sqlite.sys.mjs" line: 0}]
Do you have your Zotero data directory on a network drive or in another non-standard location?
