Upgrade Storageswitching affiliated institution
Hi Zotero team,
I previously was a phd student, now moved to a new insitution. My previous account was provided by the uni. I have updated the email within my account with the new institutional email, but how do I transfer my previous library into the new one?

dstillman Zotero Teamedited January 30, 2026What exactly do you mean? You should only have one Zotero account, which can have one or more email addresses associated with it. An account is never "provided by" a university. (Institutional Zotero Storage can be provided by a university, but that's based solely on a verified email address on your account.)

ceciliazhouedited January 31, 2026oh sorry. What i meant was, my zotero account's sotrage is provided by my previous institution. But I think this affiliation will be deactivated in a month. I do not want to lose all of my library record. I'm not sure what to do to proceed. Should i export the record and then import them into a new account?
