Item Notes bar missing

Congratulations and many thanks for the terrific upgrade to Zotero!

I believe there was a bar above the menu ribbon in the Notes panel which allowed quick access to all notes and a quick way to add a new note. Will this be coming back?

You’re in a note. Click the Back button in the top left to return to the list.

Sorry, I should have followed the usual convention. The image I posted was the expected behaviour. This is what my Notes pane looks like now:

I am running Zotero 8.0.1 (64-bit) on Linux Mint.

That's the note editor in the library view. That's never had a notes list. The Notes pane appears in the reader view, and that has a notes list, since it's meant to let you pull up or create notes while you're reading a document.

Oh. I see. It's because this is an item I don't have a pdf for. Doh! Sorry about that.
