    After updating to Zotero 8, several issues have emerged that warrant attention for optimization:
    1. The "Advanced Search" button from version 6 has been removed. This feature is frequently used, and its restoration is highly desirable, rather than requiring two clicks or the use of keyboard shortcuts to access.
    2. When returning to the main library page after opening a reference, the detailed content of the already opened literature becomes inaccessible after a short period of inactivity, necessitating a software restart to resume reading.
    3. Functionalities such as automatic duplicate detection and reference translation via plugins have become unusable. It is recommended that such features be integrated into the core software to prevent compatibility issues following updates, as such disruptions significantly impair workflow efficiency and user experience.
    4. Due to conflicts with style plugins, column widths cannot be customized.

    Restart in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins. If that fixes it, you'll need to identify the plugin that's causing it and then report the problem to the plugin's developer. Otherwise, we'd want to see a Debug ID in Troubleshooting Mode for reproducing it.
    3. Functionalities such as automatic duplicate detection and reference translation via plugins have become unusable.
    If a plugin isn't compatible, you should contact the plugin developer. Zotero will continue to gain features, but the whole point of a plugin system is that every feature doesn't need to be integrated into Zotero. Plugin developers have had many months to update their plugins for Zotero 8. Some may have been waiting for Zotero 8 to come out before pushing out updates.
    4. Due to conflicts with style plugins, column widths cannot be customized.
    For problems with a plugin, you'll need to contact the plugin developer.

    1. I doubt Advanced Search is used that frequently by many users, but if you use it a lot, note that it has an associated keyboard shortcut (ctrl+shift+f on windows).

    re: 3. Zoplicate is now compatible with Zotero 8.

    For me is much more useful the Advanced Search than the basic search (what means that I use much more the Advanced Search)

    As I say, absolutely fine if you use it a lot, but if you use it so much that 2 clicks are a nuisance, you can surely remember a keyboard shortcut.

    Indeed. By the way, regarding advanced search, let's hope https://github.com/zotero/zotero/pull/5658 and https://github.com/zotero/zotero/pull/3435 are merged/included sooner than later through the next releases.
