Zetero not working properly

Hi guys,
My Zotero updated an hour or so ago and it doesn't work anymore.
I get "this document can't be updated" error whatever I try to do.

I was just about to export my PhD thesis bibliography when it crashed.
Tell me it's an update issue and that it will be resolved.

Can you provide a Report ID, as requested in the linked troubleshooting instructions?
  • Report ID is 114258184

I use Zotero in Google docs.
It worked completely fine today before it installed the updates.
(I got Zotero 8 after the update.)
Since then I get this error whatever I try to do cite, add bibliography ,etc.

That’s not a valid Report ID. Can you try again?
  • Alright, does this one work ? 1028598263

[JavaScript Error: "can't access property "strings", this.and.single is undefined" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/citeproc.js" line: 0}]
What citation style are you using?
  • Chicago manual of style notes and bibliography

You should make a copy of the document (File → Make a copy) and follow the last step in the troubleshooting instructions to isolate the problematic part of the document. You can then send a share link to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread and we can take a look.

    Hey sure.
Does it have to be the specific document or can I send any ?
(I really should not be ending my thesis anywhere.)
Because I already tried to isolate the problematic part and it didn't fix it.
I even tried it in a new document in both Docs and Word.

Oh, this is happening in new, empty documents as well? In both Docs and Word? If that's the case, the troubleshooting instructions aren't relevant (as it notes at the top).

Does it happen if you choose a different citation style?

Can you provide a Debug ID (different from a Report ID) for Zotero startup through reproducing this, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option?
  • Yes, it does sadly.

    Yes, I can.:D

What Language are you selecting in the plugin's Document Preferences?

And does this happen if you choose, say, APA 7?

Never mind, I see the locale you're using for the bibliography. If you choose English, I assume that fixes it?
  • Yes it does!
    Thank you so much!
  • dstillman Zotero Team
OK, we're looking into the problem with your selected locale.
  • Thank you! <3

This will be fixed in Zotero 8.0.1.
  • That sounds amazing!
