Zotero 8 notes: inline color broken. Request source mode/Reader mode
In Zotero 8, inline text coloring in notes no longer works.
Observed outcome:
- Inline HTML such as
- The HTML is treated as regular text and the span markup is written out instead of being interpreted.
- There appears to be a way to apply text color manually in the note editor, but selecting a color has no visible effect.
Result:
- Colored words from pasted content lose their coloring.
- Manual color application does not work.
- There is currently no way to preserve or apply inline color in notes.
Request:
Please consider adding a reader/editor or visual/source mode for notes, or a way to paste and preserve basic HTML semantics, so inline formatting is not silently lost.

If you're specifically talking about copying text from somewhere, you should say that and provide steps to reproduce from a given webpage. Can you explain exactly what you're trying and what's happening? The Text Color and Highlight Text options should be working fine, and are for me.
I specifically said the Text Color and Highlight Text options are working fine for me. If they're not working for you, provide some screenshots and explain exactly what you're trying, step by step, along with a Report ID. Same with copying from a webpage.
