  • Same here. Cannot add a reference from Clipboard. Also current MacOS and Zotero.

Error message: "The selected file is not in a supported format."

Source is ncbi.nlm.nih.gov "Cite this Page"

I have APA 7 selected under Quick Copy.
  • Example -- suggested citation from a government publication:

Creedon TB, Dubenitz, J. U.S. Population Prevalence of
Prescription Psychiatric Medication Use among Children and
Adolescents, 2006-2023. Office of the Assistant Secretary for
Planning and Evaluation, U.S. Department of Health and Human
    Services. April 2025.

Unable to add this from the clipboard. Same error message.
  • That's not how import from clipboard works. It works for adding from metadata formats, not from sample citations.
You're probably fastest off using either anystyle.io or just ask an LLM to conver the citation into RIS, copy that and use import from clipboard.
  • Thanks for the tip, as ncbi.nlm.nih.gov and many government publications sometimes offer only a text citation. This is also not unusual for older publications without DOI etc. numbers.
