When trying to add a new document in the group library, it does now allow me to do so. Do you know why?

Your group has file editing disabled. You can change that from the group settings.

thank you. How to how unable the file editing, I cannot see this in the setting.

Hi I checked but I cannot see where it says unable so I can upload a pdf, would it be possible to be more specific or send a screen shot.

From the groups page, you open the specific group you want to edit.
Then go to the Group Settings:

It may vary depending on the Group Type, as mentioned in the documentation linked above:

Public Open groups cannot have file storage enabled.
