issue with alphabetical sorting

In Zotero 7.0.30, the authors in the "info" section seem to be defaulting to manual sorting. Unfortunately, that manual sorting carries into citations (I'm using Chicago, but I checked other styles, and it's the same) instead of sorting authors alphabetically. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you!

    This has always been the case, since author order is meaningful. Are you following a style guide that tells you to sort authors alphabetically?

    If you mean multiple citations -- like (Smith 1776, Marx and Engels 1848) -- Chicago indeed doesn't sort those, never has, and the manual also doesn't prescribe it. Most other author-date styles sort, either alphabetically or chronologically.
