Word plugin abbreviating bibliography entry

edited 9 days ago
I have an item which, if I generate the bibliography within Zotero (using Vancouver superscript style), gives me (correctly):

1. Wicquart J, Mathon L, Petit A, Rivera-Sosa A, McField M. Status and Trends of Caribbean Coral Reefs: 1970 – 2024. Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network (GCRMN) and International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI) [Internet]. 2025 Dec 9 [cited 2025 Dec 15]; Available from: https://gcrmn.net/caribbean-report-2025-v1/

Yet in Word, I get an abbreviated form of words for the publication:

4. Wicquart J, Mathon L, Petit A, Rivera-Sosa A, McField M. Status and Trends of Caribbean Coral Reefs: 1970 – 2024. Glob Coral Reef Monit Netw GCRMN Int Coral Reef Initiat ICRI [Internet]. 2025 Dec 9 [cited 2025 Dec 15]; Available from: https://gcrmn.net/caribbean-report-2025-v1/

I don't understand why, as if I choose Create Bibliography from Item, then Manage Styles, then Style Editor, the preview has the publication in full, as entered in the UI…

Thanks,
William

versions:

  • Uncheck automatically abbreviate journal titles in the Document Settings in the Zotero Word add-on
  • Thanks! (for anybody else, this is in Advanced Options and labelled 'Use MEDLINE journal abbreviations).
