Proxy breaks import of PDF file
Loading the proxy in the Zotero Connector breaks the import of the PDF file.
Test on a ScienceDirect article:
https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijheatmasstransfer.2024.125306
In the following Debug IDs, I have first imported without proxy (successfully), reloaded with the proxy and failed to import, then succeeded again after disabling the proxy.
Zotero Connector: The Debug ID is D2058490071.
Zotero Desktop: Debug ID D963632944
I see the same also on Chrome.
Note that I can import the PDF file of that article opened in Chrome, but not in Firefox.
I had also some problems without the proxy, but I cannot reproduce those problems:
Zotero Connector: The Debug ID is D205940795.
Zotero: Debug ID D1352553743
Test on an open access article from RSC (same steps as the first report above):
https://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlelanding/2025/sm/d4sm01318b
Zotero Connector: The Debug ID is D310999174.
Zotero Desktop: Debug ID D95240285
Note that the Supplementary information PDF was trying to be downloaded, but never succeeded.

Zotero Connector 5.0.164

I still see the problem with the latest versions, trying to get the ScienceDirect article above:
Zotero Connector [5.0.165]: The Debug ID is D1876195645.
Zotero Desktop [7.1-beta.35+03b33d995 (64-bit)]: The Debug ID is D254536009.
Firefox 138.0.1 (64-bit), Windows 10
* With the CNRS proxy in Firefox, the PDF import fails:
Zotero Connector [5.0.193beta1]: Debug ID D878327106
Zotero Desktop [8.0-beta.17+0748b0975 (64-bit)]: Debug ID D116112812
Firefox 146.0 (64-bit), Windows 11
* Importing from the PDF page in Firefox is working fine.
* Same problem in Chrome: the PDF import fails with the CNRS proxy
Zotero Connector [5.0.193]: Debug ID D1404678151
Zotero Desktop [8.0-beta.17+0748b0975 (64-bit)]: Debug ID D1910044304
Google Chrome Version 142.0.7444.176 (Build officiel) (64 bits), Windows 11
* Importing from the PDF page in Chrome is working fine.
If you think that your problem is different, you can open a new thread and provide the debug information as detailed in the link below:
