Search problem

There is a problem with my search bar. Everything works fine and normally when I start up Zotero. But as soon as I use the dropdown arrow menu to switch from a search by "Title" to a search by "Everything," I can no longer switch back and toggle between different kinds of searches. Not only does the arrow dropdown menu not open, but clicking the magnifying glass also does nothing. Restarting solves the problem, but again after one switch of search filter, I can no longer toggle between them. I'm running Zotero 7.0.29.

  • @muneca8320, when this breakage occurs, what happens if you try to open the search type popup with with a keyboard shortcut (Option+ArrowDown when the search field is focused)?

    Alternatively, you could press Shift-Tab from the search field to focus the magnifying glass, followed by a Space to open the popup.
  • Thanks for these suggestions.
    -Having clicked on the search field, Option+ArrowDown has no visible result.
    -Shift-Tab from the search field did indeed select the magnifying glass, but then pressing the space bar produced no further result.
    The only thing that seems to fix this problem and let me shift from searching Everything to Searching more specifically is still fully quitting and restarting Zotero.
